The white panes were intentional, to make it fit more with the already existing 1x4x3 window. I do realise there are other windows, but not many of them are openable. I thought adding a little variety is always nice.

Looks too Lego, the window itself won't change color like Namethatmanxx said, there is already a window pack.

I wish the middle window would just stay the same color as the paint.
