Posted: Wed Aug 04, 2010 8:14 pm The 6 digit code is the hexidecimal code for all the possible color combinations. Hex is made up of the numbers 0 to 9 and letters a to f and is where we get the whole 16bit from as there are 16 possible combinations vice a simple numeric number. The color for white is ff and the color for black is 00. So why are there 6 numbers? For the 3 primary colors (to a computer). Red green and blue (see the RTB logo). So FF0000 broken out as FF (bright red) 00 (no green) and 00 (no blue) gives you a bright red |
