Yes. And both needs to have port 1212 forwarded for bidirectional conversations.

DarkLight isn't working on this anymore. Even though, is your friend of your sure that he connected successfully to your server? Is there any console error?

HELP!

This has a bug in it. My friend found my server, entered the password, and it worked. But, he cant hear me. I can hear exactly what his server is saying. But his end cant hear what my server is saying. My ports are forwarded. Even 1212! Please help!

Net Nanny is a bitch. I had to hack, and remove it from my machine. Also even had to go into the registry to eliminate any trace of Net Nanny. The thing that remained hidden in the registry which I found stopped me from using internet. Got rid of it, and now I'm free to use Face Book, Youtube, etc.

It's really easy if you use the gui. Just open the gui(With a button you bind earlier), start the chat, choose the server you want to connect to, type in the password and connect. If that server have portforwarded port 1212 and if it also have started the chat server, it will connect successfully.
Then you do the same for the other server so it can send you the chat too.

To open a port you need to connect to your router and open it. If it's not open, then nothing will happen...

I am a noob i know, but how would i open that port? And also, what would happen if that port was not open?

You mean like each client can also do this privately? Could be interesting, but now it sounds more like IRC to me.

Suggestion:
Make another 'mode' where a host can monitor their server's chat, while being on another server. Instead of Server-to-Server, Host-to-server.

Due that Badspot only implemented UPnP for UDP, and we are only able to use TCP, there is no other way than port forwarding manually. Also, it is a risk if we could automatically portforward due that any other person could use this to hack your server. Even though I can assure you that it is not doable on this mod.

This is annoying because i had to port foward for this, at the same time, I ported blockland for no good reason :D And then disabled UPnP, suck that Lazy Asses who can't port!

@breadboy yes there is IRC, but what if somone is on your dedi sever, and your on another sever? how do you mute them or know what there doing using IRC? so this is just somthing to make us more lazy so we dont have to leave our sever to get a noob to shut up :D

If you have activated the chat on that server, yes. Also, you need to activate the other way around too, so that server can connect to the server where you are. Else, it wont work.

This is different from the normal RTB IRC because the chat from other servers appears in your normal chat, so you don't have to have the IRC window to chat.

But my question is, is there like a /whisperServer command so you can send a message only to your server or another specified one?

first you need to enter a password at the very top of the gui, then press create chat. then you get the server list. enter the servers specific password and press request chat.
